Thanks, Lyd. That's what I was wondering -- I knew about the settings, but was/am afraid that the ruler scale will be off. I'll try it and will post back here.

Cheers,

Jonette I've heard from some in Canada who have a default setting for one type of paper but also are able to change manually to A4 etc...maybe there is an option in your printer that allows you to change to another paper size even though the paper IN your printer will be 8 1/4 x 11 1/4 (this is how A4 converts to from 210mm x 297 mm) ...so really there is only 6mm less in the width and 18mm more in the length...I'm not a computer geek but I would think if you could change your settings over to US or Canadian letter size of 8 1/2 by 11 inches - the size of the paper will be comparable to print since the rulers are centered on a page and there is enough side and top/bottom margins that nothing will print off the page.

If worse comes to worse, could someone just print off those pages for you and mail them to you?

Yippee -- Thanks, Bridget! I prefer to have a recommendation before I spend money.  ;)

Lyd, I can only get A4 paper here, which has different dimensions from your paper. I'll have to try printing out one of these and see what happens.

Thanks for posting them.

I love my scale cards; I have one inch, quarter inch and 1:144th.  They're really handy, nice and sturdy, too.  I keep them in my wallet so I have them when I go shopping.  I like that they're clear plastic so I get a better measurement.

http://www.thescalecard.com/

the link works if you remove the index.html part so here it is above.

Also - not sure where I found them but I have 4 pdf files with paper rulers for 1:12, 1:24, 1:48 and 1:144 th scale and when printed out at 100% on 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper, they are accurate and can be laminated - remember to check the percentage number and click the drop down menu to choose 100% and make sure when you print it on your printer that you choose 8 1/2 by 11 paper for accuracy - there's a pocket 6 inch size and a longer one for each scale...there's no way of knowing where they were from because no site or url info is found anywhere on them.

Here's a link to them in my webspace files in case anyone needs them.

Well, if no one here on the forum has one, I guess I'll have to chance it and be the first.  :lol

Thanks for your feedback, Cath and Kerri.

Yeah!  It works for me now - probably a glitch.  Yes, this looks handy to have.

I just stumbled upon this and am wondering if anyone here has used it? If so, in which scale and do you find it lives up to their hype?

I'm thinking of ordering one in 144 scale.
