Sorry Lyd - I didn't check your site first - I've put an order in to http://www.minikitz.com/ - here's hoping it works! Thanks everyone for your help, especially Nathalie for offering to send me a supply!

yes! There the ones I'm looking for!!! Unfortunately, the site you gave me only ships to the US...but at least now I know what they're called. Thanks!  ;D

Had a quick look on Google UK for them and came up empty but I'll keep trying!

When I looked at the item it shoes 12/350 - doesn't that mean a case of 12 tubes with 350 toothpicks in each tube?

I know I paid 1.00 for a plastic tube container of 250 and the seller was making a profit. So I assume, especially since the weight says 4 pounds they're talking about a case of 12 containers?

I think I know what toothpicks you are wanting...they are called Kokeshi toothpicks.  This site offers them for $4.55 for 350 toothpicks.  Don't know how much the shipping is.

http://www.minikitz.com/store2/enter.html
This online store has them for 1 cent a piece sold in lots of 25 for 25cents...

I found mine at a miniature show here in Canada - a plastic container labelled Cafe Express with 250 for $1.00. I bought 4 containers  ;D

The more I see hints and tips on how to use them, full length or partial ones, as handles on drawers, canes, for parasols, as bannisters in smaller scales, bedposts etc...I'm thinking there's no end to what they can become.

Hi Nathalie,

That is a lovely offer! Thank you!  :-*

Can I wait and see if anyone can point me to a supplier though? If I can get them myself it means I won't be asking the same question again in a few months time!  Grin

Hi,

Not sure if this is the right forum for this question. Anyway, I can't find anywhere that sells turned toothpicks in the UK. Does anyone know where I could get these - they come in so handy for so many things!!  Googling just leads to sheer frustration! The only supply I could find was on the tables of my local Vietnamese food restaurant and its way too expensive to eat there often enough to build up a decent supply!!  ;D ;D ;D
