Where Do You Get Your Shipping Supplies ???

I try to be earth friendly and recycle little boxes from the office (paper clip boxes,etc) and get the tiny tiny bubble envelopes in 10 packs from walmart

I have found an amazing factory shop locally that sells really strong gift boxes that are very pretty too!
They range in price from $0,50 to $1,50.  I try to package my dolls as beautifully as I can.....I think it makes customers feel special, almost like they're receiving a present to themselves. The customers LOVE the boxes....I think usually more than my dolls...LOL... ;D   I know it would be a little expensive to ship tiny items with a lower price tag to customers in boxes like this, but when they're paying at least $150 a doll I feel it's a very small price for me to pay to get their purchases to them in a safe AND well-presented way! I love the idea of film canisters for smaller items, thanks for that useful tip! Here are some of the gift boxes that I'm about to send off this week:

I got most of my shipping supplies from local post office. They have their own supplies and sell under reasonable price. I mainly do double boxed packing, I buy the padded envelop and bubble wrapping from post office. Internal boxes - paper box I made by my own. Except if I ship a single, tiny item or the mini-jewelry I will use small plastic cup with lid I bought from local store.

Someone posted a link to RoyalMailers.com on another site and it looks like their prices are very competitive.  Plus they offer free shipping.  I will definitely check them out next time I need bubble mailers or boxes.

I use small sections of pvc pipe that---I wrap the minis in a coffee filter and surround the pipe with bubble wrap then enclose into a large envelope that has been taped in critical spots.  I get pvc pipe at Home Depot for $1-$2 apiece in 3/4" and 1" sizes.  I have gotten boxes at WalMart---but suppose I could do a bit better---but, don't use a whole lot of boxes.  Also, I've found the wide tape at the Dollar Store is the best value---mine has the extra heavy duty and it is as good or better than what I've spent over $3 a roll for.

wow.. film canisters...that is a great shipping idea. I have used Sucrets containers before (like altoids) too. I use those containers for sorting things too so whenever anyone in my home has a sore throat, they get that kind of cough drop. LOL!

Camera Film processing areas in Drug store chains, etc.
I use a lot of empty film canisters for shipping our miniature accessories.

I usually just pad the item with paper towel and cut off the excess from above the canister rim with scissors. These go into a ziplock, then into a bubble-padded mailer. Never a broken mini in ten years! (and no insurance needed either..)

Granted not everything will fit into film canisters, but for those that do - these are perfect.

Dollar store mostly... Recycled bubble wrap and leftover envelopes from when I was running a business from my home. I stick my address labels over the return address.  ;)

Here in the US, one can get a variety of Priority Mail boxes an envelopes, PM mailing labels, and even PM tape for free directly from the post office.  They will also deliver them to your home for free but only if you order them in bulk.

I recycle whatever popcorn and bubble wrap I can.  Since I use a lot of popcorn I usually buy it from Office Max or Office Depot.  If someone has a supplier of popcorn who sells it considerably cheaper and shipping is minimal, please let me know.

I recycle.  I pretty much use what I receive packages in as I order A LOT online, LOL

I get my priority boxes from the post office.  When I need bubble wrap, I buy it at Target, cheapest place I've found so far.

I get my corrugated boxes and retail boxes at Uline, they are reasonably priced and shipping is cheap compared to other vendors.
